There are several types of Wattbike monitors and when it comes to repairs or upgrades, it is important to know which type you have. The following guide will help:

Wattbike Performance Monitors - Pro/Trainer

Model A (discontinued):

• GIANT WATTBIKE FIRST GENERATION: 2012 - 2013 - the first Wattbike had a Model A Monitor which is no longer available. 
• The connection type for the Model A Monitor is an ethernet cable type, also known as an RJ45 cable.
• The A monitor takes a different charger which is no longer available to purchase. 
• Model A monitors are no longer serviced/repaired due to their age and having no spare parts available. We no longer offer trade-in for this type of monitor. To replace your Modal A monitor with a new type, please contact customer services. 

Model B:

There are 3 types of connectors a Model B monitor may have:

• Screw fit connection (B1) - bike serial numbers 22008260 onwards for Pro & 22008317 onwards for Trainer
• Screw fit connection (B2) - bike serial numbers 22012154 onwards
• Push fit connection (B3) - bike serial number 22017492 onwards for Pro and 22017545 onwards for Trainer

• The Model B Serial Number is 8 digits long and starts 250xxxxx. It can generally be found on the back of the monitor. 

Screw Fit - B1 or B2

• WATTBIKE SECOND GENERATION: 2013 - 2014: Serial numbers 22008260 onwards for Pro & Serial numbers 22008317 onwards for Trainer.
• Screw fit connection (B1 & B2) are the original Model B monitors and they have a different connector.
• Screw fit connection B1 - bike serial numbers 22008260 onwards for Pro & 22008317 onwards for Trainer.
• Screw fit connection B2 - bike serial numbers 22012154 onwards.
• If the input socket is damaged, this will require an upgrade of the data cable and monitor to a B3 push fit connector.
• A B1 data cable will fit a B2 monitor but a B2 data cable will not fit a B1 monitor. This is because the number of pins are different: B1 has a single notch screw fit connection between the monitor and data cable. B2 has a 5 notch connection between the monitor and data cable.

Push Fit

• WATTBIKE THIRD GENERATION: 2014 - current model.
• The starting serial number for the first production of the Third Generation of Wattbike Pro & Trainer models is 22017492 for Pro and 22017545 for Trainer.
• Push fit connection (B3) between monitor and data cable.
• BLE connectivity added to the monitors from April 2015.
• This monitor is now sold with all new Pro/Trainer bikes and is Bluetooth enabled.
• Please note, The screw fit cable can only be swapped for a push-in cable by upgrading both the monitor and the cable to the push fit type; there's no simple adaptor. You can do this by booking a monitor service on our website and specify in the notes that you require upgrading to push fit.

Performance Touch Screen - Nucleus and AtomX

• The PTS is used with the Nucleus and Atom X Wattbikes. It is not compatible with any other Wattbikes. 
• The PTS has its own firmware updates.
• Serial number is an 8 digit number and begins 280xxxxx. It can be found on the back of the monitor or in the top left of the screen when the monitor is turned on.
