How do I connect the Atom to 3rd Party Applications?

This article will provide you with a step by step guide on how to connect your Atom to the Wattbike Hub and Third Party applications such as Zwift, TrainerRoad and Sufferfest via both Bluetooth and ANT+ connections. 

Wattbike Hub

1.      Turn on device (iPhone etc.), turn on the atom via on switch at the back of the bike.
2.      Ensure Bluetooth is turned on the app and all apps running Bluetooth are not running.
3.      Open Wattbike app and select a workout or just ride.
4.      On the top right-hand corner of the screen please select the bike ID from the list of known Wattbike's.
5.      Select Wattbike and the symbol will turn green.
6.      Press play on the workout, workout will start when you start pedalling.

Zwift – Bluetooth

1.      Turn on the smart device (iPhone etc.), turn on the atom via “on” switch at the back of the bike.
2.      Ensure Bluetooth is turned on within the settings of the smart device. Also ensure all apps potentially running Bluetooth in the background of your device are are not running.
3.      Open Zwift on the smart device and login to your account, next select a workout or session.
4.      Option to connect 4 sources. Power source, Cadence, Controllable Trainer and heart rate (option). For the bike to be used to its full Zwift potential you will need to connect to the controllable trainer source.
5.      Click on the sources you are wanting to collect and select the Atom off list.
6.      Start workout. If the changes in gradient are too intense then you can amend this within the Zwift settings.

Zwift – ANT +

1.      Plug ANT + dongle into the computer and turn on the bike.
2.      Open the Zwift app on the computer.
3.       Option to connect 4 sources. Power source, Cadence, Controllable Trainer and heart rate (option). For the bike to be used to its full Zwift potential you will need to connect to the controllable trainer source.
4.      Start workout. If the changes in gradient are too intense then you can amend this within the Zwift settings.
 
Zwift – Bluetooth via Device link

1.      Download Zwift mobile link to device.
2.      Open link on phone and ensure that Bluetooth is switched on.
3.      Open app on computer and ensure it is connected to the same WIFI network as the phone.
4.      Turn on the monitor and select the Wattbike from the list, the phone should connect automatically to the bike.
5.      Connect the sensors out of the list.
6.      Press just ride on Zwift desktop and just ride on the monitor.
 
Sufferfest – Bluetooth

1.      Turn on device (iPhone etc.), turn on the atom via the “on” switch at the back of the bike.
2.      Ensure Bluetooth is turned on within the settings of the smart device. Also ensure all apps potentially running Bluetooth in the background of your device are are not running.
3.      Pick a workout from the list.
4.      Select Bluetooth connectivity and choose the atom as the source for cadence and power.
5.      Start workout.
 
Sufferfest – ANT +

1.      Plug ANT + dongle into computer and turn on the bike.
2.      Open the Zwift app on the computer.
3.      Connect to the available sensors.
4.      Start workout.
 
Apple TV

1.    Switch on the bike.
2.    Open up Zwift on the Apple TV.
3.    Ensure that the bike is not connected to any other smart devices.
4.    Option to connect 4 sources. Power source, Cadence, Controllable Trainer and heart rate (option). For the bike to be used to its full Zwift potential you will need to connect to the controllable trainer source.

(The Wattbike Atom is currently not connectable to the Apple Watch)
 
Connect Atom to Trainer Road 
1.    Turn on bike at the mains power. Open the Trainer road app on your smart device or computer.
2.    You can either connect via Bluetooth or ANT +, although ANT + will require a dongle. (https://support.trainerroad.com/hc/en-us/articles/201618914-ANT-Connectivity)
3.    Ensure that the bike is not connected to any other smart devices.
4.    Option to connect 4 sources. Power source, Cadence, Controllable Trainer and heart rate (option). Choose Power and cadence, if you are wanting a standard trainer functionality. Or select controllable trainer if you are wanted Ergo mode to be functional.
