I have a problem with my Wattbike Atom (Next Generation) in ERG/Gear modeUpdated 11 days ago

On the Wattbike Atom (Next Generation) there are additional sensors to refine the ERG and gear mode experience. If you have a problem with ERG mode, please check that your firmware is up-to-date (please check the firmware section of our support page).

If your bike is on the latest firmware and still experiencing resistance fluctuations with ERG and/or gear mode, please follow the below instructions:

Please complete the Set zero state process first. Sometimes called zero offset, this resets the force value of the strain gauge of your Wattbike. This value is used to calculate Wattbike’s proprietary power metrics including Polar View & PES when pedalling.

IMPORTANT: No pressure should be applied to the pedals when pressing ‘Set Zero State’ to ensure the most accurate values.

To set zero states, follow these instructions carefully:

  1. Unplug the Wattbike from the mains for 2 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.

  2. Open your Wattbike Hub app.

  3. Go to Settings

  4. Go to Known Wattbikes

  5. Select your Wattbike and ensure that you are connected - the circle next to your serial number willl turn green.

  6. Enter into the Advanced Settings Whilst off the bike, rotate your pedals back 1 full rotation, set your right pedal to the 6 o'clock position and ensure that no pressure is applied to pedals.
  7. Under the Set Zero state section, press Set - Note that you will not be notified of the reset happening, but this will have occurred.

Next:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Known Wattbikes > Select your Serial Number (261*****).
  2. You will then see your diagnostic report displayed, please scroll down to the bottom of the report. Here you will see the below section.
  3. 1Signal:

    9- Electromagnet Coil Temperature:
    10- Electromagnet Resistance Level(%):
  4. Please provide us with a video of your device screen detailing the metrics above whilst completing at least 10 full revolutions of your bike at around 80-90rpm. This must be in stable gear and please ensure that you do not freewheel at any stage or pedal backwards.

Please attach the video to the contact us form so that our technical support team can then analyse this further for you.
