Updating the firmware on your Wattbike Atom (Next Generation)Updated an hour ago

We occasionally release firmware updates for the Wattbike Atom (Next Generation). These are delivered via hub app updates. 

Please note: New Wattbikes may have a different firmware installed to that which is on your Wattbike. Any firmware updates will be pushed through via the Wattbike hub app if and when available for your Wattbike model. Until then, there is no requirement to update the firmware on your Wattbike. Firmware archives can be accessed here.


To update your Wattbike to the latest firmware, please follow these instructions:

  1. Turn on your mobile device Bluetooth
  2. Turn on your Wattbike Next Generation Atom
  3. Open the Wattbike Hub app - ensure you have the latest version installed
  4. Enter a "Quick Ride"
  5. The bike should prompt a firmware update if one is available - follow the onscreen instructions
  6. This should be a quick and simple process although it will differ between different devices. Following the upload, restart you Wattbike and the Hub App on your device. Your Wattbike is now ready to use.

We’re aware some users’ devices experience issues when updating the firmware, due to Bluetooth caching. In order to clear your Bluetooth cache from your smartphone or device, follow these instructions:

  1. Turn off Bluetooth -> restart your device -> turn on Bluetooth again.
  2. Go into Settings -> Bluetooth -> forget all paired devices -> try the Wattbike Hub app again.
  3. Reset Network settings: Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network settings.
  4. Turn your next generation Wattbike Atom off and on again to restart.
  5. If this fails, please try another device with the latest Wattbike Hub app.
  6. Alternatively, you can also use the NRF app to connect.
