What&#x2019;s new?The Performance Touchscreen is updated to version 5.2.2, which includes minor bug fixes and improvements;<ul><li style="font-weight: 400;">Optimises local data storage process to reduce the space used on the device</li><li style="font-weight: 400;">Resolved a bug which caused some pre-test configuration screens to crash when the measurement system was set to imperial</li></ul>The bike firmware is updated to version 1.03.52, which;<ul><li style="font-weight: 400;">Resolves a bug which could affect the session timer</li></ul>The update window is scheduled for Monday 28th November between 00:01am and 01:00am GMT.&#xA0;How to update your Wattbike Nucleus or Wattbike AtomXTo get the latest Performance Touchscreen (PTS) and firmware update, follow these steps:&#xA0;Note: we strongly advise leaving the bike plugged in and PTS switched on before the update. If the PTS is flat, please charge it using the external USB port and a 2a charger.<ol><li style="font-weight: 400;">Turn the PTS on and ensure it is plugged in to the original power source in advance of the update window</li><li style="font-weight: 400;">Check the energy saving timer won&#x2019;t turn the PTS before the update window (click the serial number &gt; click Advanced Settings &gt; scroll down to Change Timer Durations &gt; check that Energy Saving Timer is set to off)</li><li style="font-weight: 400;">Check the PTS is connected to a Wi-Fi network (the &apos;Network&apos; icon in the top bar should be red).</li><li style="font-weight: 400;">Ensure the Auto Firmware Update setting is enabled on the PTS (click the serial number in top left of screen &gt; click Advanced Settings &gt; scroll down to Auto Firmware Update).</li><li style="font-weight: 400;">Once the update is complete you can switch the Energy Saving Timer back to your preferred duration.</li><li style="font-weight: 400;">At this point, we recommend you hold down the power button and power the Performance Touchscreen off, then press the power button to power it back on.</li></ol>Note: We strongly advise leaving the bike plugged in and PTS switched on ahead of the update to ensure a smooth update.&#xA0;&#xA0;What to expect when the PTS updates<ul><li style="font-weight: 400;">Between midnight and 1am on Monday 28th November GMT, the app will briefly close, during this time you may see the tablet home screen and might notice a red &#x2018;CM&#x2019; icon with a spinner/loading icon</li><li style="font-weight: 400;">Shortly afterwards the (updated) Performance Touchscreen app will relaunch</li><li style="font-weight: 400;">As long as Firmware Auto Update is enabled, following update to 5.2.2, the Performance Touchscreen app will immediately launch the Firmware Update process. This follows two stages as the firmware updates the Digital Board then the Sensor Board - there are two red progress bars on screen during this time (this process normally takes less than 5 minutes)</li></ul>Once the firmware update completes, the app will return to the home screen - the icons may be briefly grey while the screen reconnects, once they turn red, the bike is ready to use. What we&apos;re seeingReports have reached us about sessions ending early or being interrupted on the Wattbike Nucleus.We have been able to identify that the dropouts are being caused by external electrical interference causing Android to disconnect the USB connections between some of the Wattbike&apos;s electronics.What we&apos;ve doneWe are piloting new electronics and shielded components which have extremely high resistance to external interference and this is currently going through independent testing. If this is successful, an upgrade programme will be put in place for affected customers.We are also working on changes to the session connection logic in all of our apps to reconnect in the case of a dropout. In most cases, reconnections will happen very quickly and will allow the session to be continued with little or no disruption and without having to restart the session.This functionality is currently under development and is being scheduled for deployment in the next month or so. As soon as it&apos;s ready, we will let you know.What you can doThe pattern emerging means that the issue is specific to the immediate environment the Wattbike is being used in. To combat this, we initially advise trying to move the Wattbike to a different room if possible to reduce any obvious sources of electrical interference such as microwaves, boilers, etc.If you are still experiencing issues after moving your Wattbike,<a href="https://support.wattbike.com/en-GB/contact-us-2477439" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"> please get in touch with our customer services</a> who can arrange an engineer visit.
