Service TiersUpdated an hour ago

Regular servicing keeps your Wattbike performing at it's best. Whether you ride occasionally or several times a week, this guide explains when to book, how often, and which service tier is right for you.

A certified Wattbike engineer will inspect the internal drivetrain components and adjustment touchpoints, as well as assess the overall condition of the bike. They will then replace any key components as defined within each tier to maximise the performance, reliability and longevity of your Wattbike.

We recommend servicing your Wattbike every 1-2 years, depending on usage and other factors. For more advice on frequency of servicing take the quiz, or
read our guide.

Signs Your Wattbike May Need a Service

  • Unusual noises: All Wattbikes make some sound from the chain, but if the noise changes or becomes louder, it's worth getting it checked.
  • Different ride feel: Vibrations through the pedals, handlebars, or saddle can point to internal wear.
  • Visible wear or damage: External wear is often a sign that internal components need attention too.

How Often Should I Service My Wattbike?

  • Minimum: At least once every two years to keep the bike running smoothly.
  • Frequent riders (3–5 times per week): Plan for annual servicing once the initial warranty period has passed.
  • High power output: Internal components wear faster at higher average power outputs.
  • Maintenance: Following the care guidance in your user manual helps external consumable parts last longer.

All services are carried out by trained Wattbike technicians - choose the level that best matches your Wattbike's condition.

Tier 2 – Tune, Refresh & Protect  |  £279  | At home (on-site)  ·  60 - 90 minutes

Tier 2 is best for bikes with heavy use, recurring niggles, or a bike that's starting to feel worn. This service is for you if:

  • Sessions are 3-5 times per week

  • Maximises longevity, resale value, and performance confidence
  • Current lead time is approx. 3-6 weeks turn around from the bike being received at Wattbike HQ in Nottingham

* Loan bikes are available FOC on request with Tier 3 services. However, these must be requested before booking to ensure availability and to help us minimise environmental impact with logistics. Like for like Wattbikes may not always be possible but we will try to match smart or air bikes.

Outcome:

  • Your Wattbike is restored to 'as new' performance.

What to Expect from Your Service

  • A home service includes the call out, labour, and the service or replacement of any mechanical parts as dictated by your chosen service tier.
  • The internal primary drive chain will be inspected and is likely to be replaced, as this ensures correct power measurement through the strain gauge.
  • We aim to diagnose issues remotely where possible, but on-site assessment by a trained engineer may identify additional needs. If the bike needs to come back to HQ, logistics fees still apply and you will only be charged for the work and parts required.

What Cannot Be Done On-Site

  • Power accuracy checks and strain gauge recalibration for smart bikes require specialist equipment only available at our HQ in Nottingham - these cannot be completed during a home visit.
  • Frame damage (e.g. corroded, snapped, or sheared bolts) must be handled at our HQ and may incur additional labour charges.
  • Monitor services
